Music for String Orchestra

Catskill Mountain Chamber Orchestra

The Catskill Mountain Chamber Orchestra under the direction of composer-conductor Robert Manno made a stunning debut in November 2004 at the Catskill Mountain Foundation Red Barn Performing Arts Center. The sold out concert of music by Mahler, Debussy and Johann Strauss was enthusiastically received by the overflow audience. Since then recordings of performances by the Orchestra have been featured nationwide over American Public Media's "Performance Today." He and his wife, violinist Magdalena Golczewski are both former members of the Metropolitan Opera and the Founders and Co-Directors of the nationally acclaimed Windham Chamber Music Festival which has just completed its 12th season of world-class performances.

Program:
J.S. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto #3 in G Major
Benjamin Britten: Simple Symphony
Intermission
Romeo Cascarino: Meditation and Elegy
Edvard Grieg: Holberg Suite
Pyotr Tchaikovsky: Finale from the "Serenade for Strings"

This event is funded in part by the Jarvis and Constance Doctorow Family Foundation
