Welcome from the Director

In this bustling era of large language machines, the human touch in art resonates even more profoundly. We yearn for authenticity, for narratives that sing of joys and sorrows, dreams, and realities – Making and practicing art and crafts are a fundamental expression of our humanity, a language that transcends words and cultures. It allows us to tell our stories, share our experiences, and connect with each other on a deeper level.

This summer, Sugar Maples Center For Creative Arts redefines the art and craft experience. In addition to traditional offerings in ceramics, painting, and fiber arts, we will now be hosting workshops in writing on art, craft and memoir, written alphabet design, fly tying, and perfumery.

These new workshops reflect our commitment to providing a space for everyone to explore their creativity, regardless of their experience or background. We believe that arts and crafts have the power to transform lives, build communities, and make the world a more beautiful place.

Our beautiful, light-filled studios, nestled amidst the breathtaking Catskill Mountains, become your haven for exploration. Hike through sun-dappled forests, let the cool mountain breeze invigorate your senses, and find inspiration in the whispers of nature. Workshops become more than just skill-building exercises; they are journeys of self-discovery, fueled by the beauty around you and the shared passion of fellow creators.

See you in the Catskills!
